Dragon boats will return to Elkwater this weekend (July 21-22) thanks to the work of Medicine Hat’s PACE Rotary Club.

Every child grips a dream of being something larger than life when they grow up. Some dream of being a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, or a celebrity, but not many children dream of something they can actually participate in when they are young.

Shaunavon resident Andy Cox is the new president of the Saskatchewan Elks Association for 2012-13.

Ben Lewans, Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council in Shaunavon, presented a cheque for $5,000.00 to Stan Lautsch, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Camp Lemieux.


The 90th Annual State Council Meeting of the Knights of Columbus of Saskatchewan, held in Regina, April 20 - 22, 2012 was a call to return to the basics of the Columbian Order; a call for Knights to hold fast to the Catholic principles around which the Order was founded 130 years ago. Under the theme “Evangelize” Give the World New Hope, State Deputy Ed Gibney, the State Executive, and the delegates and their families from around the Province celebrated the past year’s successes and deliberated on how to better serve the Church and the community and to “Build up the Church” with the help of young members with new ideas.
