Babies will be racing to raise awareness for the Swift Current United Way at their first ever Baby Crawl, which will be held on Dec. 8 at the Swift Current Mall, starting at 4pm. Each crawling baby will don a onesie with the name of one of the United Way’s agency members, and will race down the mall to see which agency comes in first.

Since 1999, Canadian Pacific has shown their holiday spirit by traveling throughout North America to raise money and collect food items for local food banks. The CP Holiday Train will be passing through the Southwest on Dec. 8, with a stop in Swift Current at 12:30pm, and a stop in Maple Creek at 3:30pm.

It is that time of the year again, when the familiar sound of the Salvation Army kettle bells reminding people of Christmas and the need to share the festive spirit with the less fortunate.

Southeast Alta. Co-ops shine for HALO

The six Co-ops in Medicine Hat and area (Medicine Hat Co-op, Red Hat Co-op, Servus Credit Union, 11-22 Seed Cleaning, UFA and Forty Mile Gas) got together this year to celebrate the International Year of the Co-op. 

The Swift Current and District Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECIP) wants to make more families across southwest Saskatchewan aware of the support services available through this home visitation program.

The Salvation Army in Swift Current have made note of some important dates as we head  into the Christmas season for both supporters and those who need a hand up.
