Camp Shagabec building new facility

Written by

Camp Shagabec, located in the Cypress Hills, has announced plans to build a new facility this year.  The new building will be replacing an aging WWII army barracks that currently houses the camps: kitchen, mess hall, rec hall, and craft room.  The replacement of the building is necessary due to the deterioration of the building's foundation.

Vehicles from more than 20 Hutterite colonies in southwest Saskatchewan have been off-loading fresh produce at the Salvation Army food bank in Swift Current this week to help bring some Christmas cheer to needy families.

Babies will be racing to raise awareness for the Swift Current United Way at their first ever Baby Crawl, which will be held on Dec. 8 at the Swift Current Mall, starting at 4pm. Each crawling baby will don a onesie with the name of one of the United Way’s agency members, and will race down the mall to see which agency comes in first.
