Foundation helps children to make wishes come true

For 29 years, the Children’s Wish Foundation has been helping children in Saskatchewan to live a dream and to briefly forget about their life-threatening illnesses.

The Swift Current United Way has raised the bar for its 2014 campaign goal with a fundraising target of $110,000.

When Calgary's Irene White and her husband started the Alberta Wish Trail Ride in 2009, she did it inspired by her father who sadly passed away about a year earlier.

On Tuesday, August 13 at 11:30 a.m., Shelley Sopp, RBC Senior Account Manager for Business and Personal Clients, will be presenting a cheque for $1,000 to The Shaunavon Volunteer Fire Department and The Town of Shaunavon.

On Aug. 4, the Millarville Rodeo will help support the fight against Prostate Cancer in Southern Alberta with the “Give Prostate Cancer the Boot” concert featuring live music by Gord Bamford and guests Wildflower, Bobby Wills and Drew Gregory. Proceeds from the concert will go towards Combines for Cures™ and the Rural Man Van program.

The Swift Current Salvation Army deployed six people over a period of three weeks to provide physical and emotional support to the victims of the devastating flood in southern Alberta.
