Participants in the Swift Current Youth Ministries city-wide food drive on Oct. 31 pass on food items from a trailer to stock the shelves of the Salvation Army food bank.

The Southwest Type 1 Sharps raised a record amount during 2014 for research to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes.

The Swift Current United Way and Innovation Credit Union presented a cheque of $10,000 to the United Way Active Play program on Oct. 17.

Co-op employee humbled by show of community support

Medicine Hat Co-op butcher Pete Rose has had some tough luck recently after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer in August. Yet, if one sees him, he smiles, offers a “fist bump” and tells others how lucky he is.

A young amputee and his family from the Swift Current area have benefitted from attending War Amps regional seminars that bring child amputees and their parents together to share experiences.
