A Shakesperian outlook on dreaming about the future

To be or not to be… that is the question. “What Happens When We Leap.”

ACT ONE: “To be, or not to be, that is the question”?
I stand as a teenager in front of my peers reciting the opening scene of William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. I let the words pore from my lips as if they are my own.
“Whether 'tis Nobler in the mind to suffer the Slings and Arrows of outrageous Fortune,
Or to take Arms against a Sea of troubles, and by opposing, end them?“
I am thirsty to take arms against troubles. I crave the end of suffering. I believe it is possible – IT meaning all. “It” meaning CHANGE, DREAMS, VISION, PURPOSE, PASSION, PEACE, HOPE, LIVING, LIVE LIFE, LOVE.
“To be, or not to be, that is the question”.
ACT TWO: “To die, to sleep, to sleep, perchance to Dream; Aye, there's the rub, For in that sleep of death, what dreams may come, when we have shuffled off this mortal coil, must give us pause”.
So how do I choose to BE? WHO do I choose to BE? I CHOOSE every day. The food I eat. The thoughts in my chattering mind. The feelings in my wide-open vulnerable heart. The actions of my WORD and DEED and EACH STEP and REACH and MOVEMENT of my HAND, BODY AND HEART are those that I CHOOSE.  I CHOOSE. (Note: stop blaming the other for the choices that you make. You are responsible for this one amazing life and body you are in).
What great mystery is calling you to dream? What great dream is pulling you to change? What choice are you making – or not making – that can transform your life?
ACT THREE: “Thus conscience does make cowards of us all … and enterprises of great pitch and moment, with this regard their currents turn awry, and lose the name of action”.
Plot Change. The plot thickens. Change is hard. How badly do I want it? Am I ready? What excuses and old belief systems are holding me back from my own “scene change”? Shakespeare knows about the power of fear. He wonders “who would bear the Whips and Scorns of time? Who would “grunt and sweat under a weary life”? Who would rather “bear those ills we have, than fly to others that we know not of”?
“Thus Conscience does make Cowards of us all, And thus the Native hue of Resolution Is sicklied o'er, with the pale cast of Thought, And enterprises of great pitch and moment, With this regard their Currents turn awry, And lose the name of Action”.
I do not want the unknown to hold me back. I want the unknown to push me forward. I desire the mystery of MORE to call me into action. I CHOOSE ALL. I choose to ACT – in the face of fear, uncertainty, death, disregard, misunderstanding, hurt, loneliness, isolation, loss of love. Even in the face of all of that…. I choose action.
EPILOGUE: choose your own adventure
She chose self-discipline, she chose self-love. She changed all – in betweens, belows and aboves.
She chose to be the who she desired: the woman with passion and purpose and living with fire.
The fire in her belly spoke passion to her lips. Her voice was her truth, in her heart, mind and hips.
Fire burned the fear. And a goddess appeared.
No more sitting in stillness, worry or doubt. That is not what this great life is about.
Each challenge and bump and blip on the way, help you to find the balance in each day.
She is aware and awake and she knows, there is always time for Ready, Joy, Go!!!
