A number of events will take place in Swift Current on Nov. 29 during the fifth annual Sports Day in Canada, including free swimming at the Aquatic Centre from 1-6 p.m. and public skating at the Credit Union iPlex from 2-3 p.m.

The free swimming is sponsored by the Swift Current RBC and a cheque presentation for $500 was made to City staff on Nov. 26.
Swift Current residents are invited to join Canadians across the country to celebrate Sports Day on Nov. 29. Wildcat hockey players, local figure skaters and Charlie Horse will be at the iPlex during the free public skating event.
The free swimming at the Aquatic Centre will consist of family swim from 1-2:30 p.m., public swim from 2:20-6 p.m. and lane swim from 5-6 p.m. Meghan Chisholm, the 19-year-old Swift Current resident who successfully swam across the English Channel on July 22, will be present from 4-6 p.m. for autographs. She will be challenging swimmers at the event to swim more than the 96 laps she had to complete to swim across the English Channel.
