What do a little school house, a miniature student’s desk, a school bell, a display of books and an elegant cake have in common?

They set the stage for a wonderful celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Swift Current Chapter of the Superannuated Teachers of Saskatchewan enjoyed by a group of members, spouses and friends, Wednesday, June 12, in Louie D’s Dining Room in Swift Current.

A short program included greetings and encouragement from the Vice President of the provincial STS, Doug Haroldson; a brief history of the Swift Current Chapter by Loretta Romankewicz, editor of "In Touch", the chapter’s newsletter; reflections by a past president (1982-85), Marg Sillerud; memories shared by several that were present and special music by Sharon and Cliff Veer.

Munchies, cake, ice cream and refreshments rounded off the afternoon along with splendid socializing. It was an afternoon to remember.
