Some 850 campers from across the country and residents with friends and family enjoyed a delicious pancake and ham breakfast at Cypress Hills Park in celebration of Canada Day, July 1.

This is the third year that the Friends of Cypress Hills annual Canada Day pancake breakfast has been served in large tents set up to replace the recreation centre, which three winters ago fell to heavy snow and old age. The Friends and guests were most pleased that this is also the third year of favourable weather.

Fifty volunteers assisted chair people Alvin and MaryAnn Marshall and Kelly and Barb Byers with the many tasks involved in such a large endeavour. This annual event is looked forward to by all – grownups and children alike, and the Cypress Hills Park staff appreciate the support this gives to their Canada Day celebrations.

Thank you to all chair people and helpers and all who came to enjoy food and fun.
