MNP continues to support Great Plains College and its students through the MNP Vern Neustaeter Memorial Entrance Scholarship, in honour of the late MNP partner, Vern Neustaeter.

The renewed commitment will provide $5,000 towards the MNP Vern Neustaeter Memorial Entrance Scholarship beginning this 2017-18 academic year through to the 2019-20 academic year, for a total of $15,000.
The scholarship will be awarded based on academic achievement to students entering the Administrative Assistant, Business, Electrical or Welding programs at the college. This year, the scholarship was awarded to four students (two Business students, one Administrative Assistant and one Electrician student) at a scholarship luncheon October 17.
“The regional college system and Great Plains College have helped so many students further their education and move into careers they love, while staying close to home to do it,” said Jeremy Rondeau, vice president, oilfield services and principal partner at MNP. “We’re pleased to help support the college and its students through this scholarship, while honouring a man whose dedication to this community and further education was an example for us all to follow.”
Great Plains College boasts one of the most competitive scholarship programs among regional colleges in the province. Since 2009, more than $2 million has been distributed to students enrolled in full-time student loan-eligible programs. This fall, more than 130 students will be receiving scholarships across six campuses.
“We can’t thank MNP enough for their generosity. This donation will help many of our students begin their journey into post-secondary education with a little more financial ease,” said Carrie Voysey, director of communications and development at Great Plains College. “We’re proud of our scholarship program and the financial support we can give to many of our students, but none of that would be possible without the contributions of the business community and companies like MNP that continue to support us year-after-year.”
MNP has been a long-time supporter of Great Plains College. Since 2007, they have donated over $60,000 (including the renewed commitment of $15,000 towards the MNP Vern Neustaeter Memorial Entrance Scholarship) to Great Plains College, supported numerous other college events and donated their time to give classroom presentations to Business, Electrician and Welding students.
